Itās estimated that there are more than 7 000 languages in the world, with South Africa celebrating the art of cultural communication with a festive 11 official languages. There is no doubt that language and your spoken words bare significant importance in your everyday life.
Affirmations vs mantra
AffirmationĀ
The action or process of affirming something OR emotional support or encouragement.Ā
MantraĀ
A statement or slogan repeated frequently OR (originally in Hinduism and Buddhism) a word or sound repeated to aid concentration in meditation.Ā
Every word that leaves yourĀ mouth holds incredible power, far beyond what most of you realise. Words are not just sounds or letters strung together; they are thoughtsĀ in motion, carrying energy and intent into the world around you.Ā
When you speak, you are putting your beliefs, ideas, and emotions into action, shaping not only how others perceive you but also how you perceive yourself. The words you choose have the ability to either imprison you within your own limitations or liberate you into infinite possibilities.Ā
Using negative language to describe your symptoms tells your brain that you are not safe. This puts your nervous system on high alert and causes symptoms to reappear or exacerbate. If your words are filled with negativity, fear, or pessimism, you draw moreĀ of that energy into your space,Ā creating a self-fulfilling prophecyĀ of perpetuated unwellness.Ā
Words like āI have disease xā, āIāmĀ not wellā, or āI have an incurable diseaseā are like bricks in the wallsĀ of a mental prison. Every time you speak them, you strengthen the barriers around your potential to be well, making it harder for you to break free from the cycle of chronic disease.Ā
The powerful truth
Just as easily as these walls are built, they can be torn down. The moment you start replacing limiting language with empowering statements, you begin the process of dismantlingĀ those barriers.Ā
Words like āMy body has the infinite potential to healā, āIām radiantly healthyā, and āIām getting better,Ā and better, and betterā becomeĀ the keys that unlock the doors toĀ a more expansive, limitless life.Ā
The good news is that changing your perceived state of wellness starts with something as simpleĀ as changing your words. When you consciously choose words that reflect possibility, healing, recovery, and transformation, you begin to shift your internal landscape. YouĀ are no longer reinforcing limitations; instead, you are planting seeds of potential.Ā
Affirmations like āIām the medicineā, āI have everything I need within meā or āThe healing power of God, Source, the Universe is working through meā serve as daily reminders that your life is filled with potential healing waiting to be realised.Ā
This shift in language is notĀ about pretending everything is perfect or ignoring challenges a healing journey may present. Itās about recognising that your words have the power to shape your experience of those challenges.Ā
When you speak from a placeĀ of empowerment, even difficult moments become opportunities for healing. By changing your narrative, you change your mindset. By changing your mindset, you change your actions. And by changing your actions, you change your life.Ā
Speak healing words
So, be mindful of the wordsĀ you choose. Speak with intention, knowing that every word carriesĀ the potential to either expand or contract your life. In the end, your words are the foundation of yourĀ lifeās narrative. Speak positively of healing, speak of possibility, speakĀ of miraculous potential. The powerĀ to heal your body is already within youāall you have to do is speak it into existence.
