Today Iām going to share something that I have never shared on such a big platform before. Iām going to be open and vulnerable and give you a glimpse of how I got here, and perhaps why you are here as well.Ā
I just finished a beautiful session for women in business where I guided them through their core desire feelings. We jumped through multiple timelines reviewing the past, the future and more importantly, the present. The present is where we unpacked valuable tools to healing, but most importantly for living.Ā
I was in such awe of how the divine reveals through the reflection of otherās, the things you may be missing within yourself. As I left the session, I realised that I have taken on too much, andĀ I might also be burning out again.Ā
I desperately needed to take time to pause, to sit within my own presence, and remind myself why I began this journey in the first place.Ā
Reviewing your life
You see, a few years ago I was diagnosed with a tumour on my thyroid. I was sick, fat, and fed up. I wasnāt just suffering from burnout, I was burning like a wildfire. My diagnosis forced me to review my life, to rescue and preserve what energy I had left, and to recover some of that energy to savour each new moment that God might graceĀ me with.Ā
I measure everything in summers because summers really put things in perspective. You only have 18 summers with your kids before they leave home. You only have 40 summers beforeĀ you hit your mid-life awakening. Thirty summers later, you are well into your wisdom years with just a few summers left. Summers are about popsicles and walks on the beach and I didnāt want to miss one more summer.
The bucket list
And that is when I reached out for my bucket list. I must admit it looked like an ancient scroll buried in dusty archives, and thus I blew the dust off and began exploring each word I had written likeĀ an astute archaeologist.Ā
Soon thereafter, I made tough decisions and began a journey towards healing. With new-found energy I began ticking off my bucket list. I began livingĀ a life of purpose and discovered that purpose is like tapping into a mysterious and abundant flow of energy.
Revisit the promisesĀ you made to yourself
Perhaps you have taken the time to think about or write down the things you want to do, the places you want to go, the people you would like to meet, and the experiences you want to have.Ā
I would like to encourage you toĀ dust it off and take a good look at the promises you have made to yourself.Ā
I would also like to encourage you to grab a nice cup of cacao sweetened with raw honey, or simply enjoyed as mother nature intended, a little bitter,Ā a little deep, and a little chocolatey.Ā Why cacao? Because it promotes feelings of love, compassion, and unity and cultivates a sense of inner peace.Ā
This is where you begin and tap into your core desire feelings. This is where you journal your bucketĀ list or make a few additions. Enjoy the process. Visit with each thing you have journaled and then ask yourself, āDo I have enough energy for my bucket list?āĀ
Think of how many summers you have left. Donāt waste any more time. Tap into the energy of the celebrationĀ of your aspirations and meaningful experiences. And may you all begin ticking off your bucket list.
